In his 15 seasons as a starter, Brady steered the Patriots to seven Super Bowl appearances, the most by any player in NFL history. Of those seven appearances, Brady won five, making him only one of two players to win the Super Bowl five times and the only quarterback to win five times. He is also the only player to win five Super Bowls while playing for one team. Individually, Brady is the only player to win four Super Bowl MVP awards. He’s won more playoff games than any quarterback in NFL history and more combined regular season and playoff games than any quarterback.

Brady’s NFL journey began when the Patriots selected him as the 199th pick in the 6th round of the 2000 NFL Draft. As such, he is often referred to as the ‘Biggest steal’ in the history of the NFL draft.

In Brady’s first season, he was the Pats 4th string quarterback. His stats for his rookie year? 1-3 passing for six yards. When starting QB Drew Bledsoe suffered an injury during the 2001 season, Brady got his opportunity to start. He proved his worth. Brady led the Patriots to a victory at Super Bowl XXXVI. The legend was born. This past season, Brady led the Patriots to an incredible comeback to beat the Atlanta Falcons at Super Bowl LI.

Brady ranked 15th in Forbes’ list of highest earning athletes of 2016 with a take home pay of $44.1M. Of that amount, $36.1M came from his salary and $8M from endorsements. What made Brady’s football salary surge was the $28M bonus he received when he signed a contract extension with the New England Patriots in March 2016. Under the new contract, Brady’s 2016 & 2017 annual salary were reduced to $1M while his 2018 and 2019 salary will be $14M per year.

Aside from getting a guaranteed signing bonus, cutting his 2016 salary had some positive impact. Brady was set to forfeit $2.1M of his salary ( based on his old contract ) due to the ‘Deflategate’ suspension. Instead, he only lost $235K of his 2016 salary during his four game suspension since his base salary was just $1M.

According to CelebrityNetworth, Tom Brady’s net worth is $180M. That’s peanuts compared to his wife Giselle’s $380M value. Brady’s wife is a supermodel and obviously makes much much more than him in endorsement deals. On the other hand, Brady’s endorsements are just a bunch.

Brady’s Bunch of Endorsements

Tom Brady’s most significant endorsement deal is with Under Armour. Brady signed with Under Armour in 2010 after his deal with Nike lapsed. Under his UA deal, Brady didn’t just earn an undisclosed amount of monetary payment, he also received shares of stocks from Under Armour. Five years later, the value of Under Armour stocks have ballooned close to 800% making Brady’s equity in the corporation eight times bigger than it originally was. Aside from Under Armour, Brady also endorses BeautyRest Mattress of the Simmons Bedding Company, Glaceau Smartwear and UGG Australia. Among all these, Brady’s connection with UGG looked odd.

Weeks after he signed with Under Armour, Brady agreed to be the first big endorser of UGG footwear. Brady wears their house slippers but the comfortable slip-ons look more fitted for older people more than Brady’s tough guy football player image. But the partnership worked and continues to work with UGG getting plenty of attention nationwide in the United States.

Tom Brady was introduced as an ambassador for Tag Heuer watches in 2015. Previously, Brady lent his image for Movado watches. In May 2017, Brady added a new deal to his exclusive list. The Patriots star agreed to pitch Aston Martin’s DB11 car. The automobile retails at $212K and part of Brady’s deal with the British car manufacturer is that Brady gets to design his own car. It’s reported that the Brady-designed car will only sell 12 units and that it could be called the DB12, in reference to his jersey number 12. And wouldn’t it be a coincidence if it’s called a DB12 since Bradley’s Patriots predecessor was DB11 or Drew Bledsoe who wore jersey #11? Maybe that’s part of Aston Martin’s marketing strategy.

Unlike many athletes, Tom Brady doesn’t splurge on cars. Instead, Brady likes to buy multi-million dollar houses.

During the football season, Tom and Gisele live with their two kids in a mansion at Brookline, Massachusetts. The house is just around half an hour away from the Patriots practice facility. According to sources, the Bradys paid a handsome $4.5M for the custom-made 14,317 square foot house. The mansion has five bedrooms, an elaborate kitchen, sun room, wine storage facility and a library. It also sits next to the house of Patriots owner Bob Kraft.

The Bradys also own a $14.5M penthouse at One Madison in the Flatiron district in Manhattan where Rupert Murdoch is a neighbor. Tom and Gisele are also one of the first celebrities to buy a $20M luxury condominium unit at the 70 Vestry, an apartment under construction in Tribeca, also in Manhattan. It has been reported though that once the Tribeca apartments are completed in 2018, the Bradys will sell their One Madison property. When they do, they will surely gain some profit out of it.

In 2014, Tom Brady also made a lot of dough when he sold his 18,298 square foot house in Brentwood, Los Angeles to Dr. Dre. The property was purchased for $40M or almost quadruple the $11.75M he paid to buy it.
